How To Relieve Lower Back Pain:

Photo by Sam Burriss on Unsplash

You are anxious.

Your lower back hurts and you are unsure how to relieve your lower back pain.

You are on edge and confused about what to do next.

You are usually healthy and well, so you are not sure what is causing this searing pain.

You dither between thinking about going to the Doctors to get it checked out or whether to trust it will sort itself out with two days rest and ibuprofen!

However, you are still anxious.

A phrase about one simple pleasure in life.

Poetry Prompt Day:-7

Photo by Felicia Buitenwerf on Unsplash

Good question… who am I?

Here’s who I am.

Clean, free, liberated, magnificent, beautiful, prosperous, abundant, clear, insightful, compassionate, glorious, triumphant, realistic, earthly, practical, up liftable, playful, youthful, purposeful, holy, sacred, blessed.

Courageous, loveable, expressive, adaptable, gracious, graceful, steady, calm, cheerful, kind, tactile.

Delicate, vulnerable, generous, strong, empathetic, visionary, faithful, assertive, fragrant, aware.

Inspirational, spiritual, juicy, natural, focus, focused, open-hearted, conscious, bold, gentle, trustworthy, constant, energetic, supple, disciplined, grounded, centered, motivated.

A child of the universe, liberated from the traumas of the past. Grounded in the present. Soaring into the future.

Living the life prepared for me.

That’s who I…

A poem about grief

Dedicated to all souls who have lost a loved one.

Photo by 贝莉儿 DANIST on Unsplash

In the face of insurmountable grief, we stand united.

Strong, defiant, closing our ranks, not our hearts, to the pain within.

Faced with insurmountable suffering, we come together.

We shed the common tear, hold the wings of Isis and pray for better days.

When grief comes, like a knife through our heart, we turn within; we return to the source of life and kiss the Earth we stand.

We will always remember those gone before, lives snatched and unwillingly taken from our sun.

We will always come back to our…

Poetry Prompt Day #5 in Celebration of World Poetry Day

Photo by Luis Galvez on Unsplash

An acrostic poem to celebrate Day 5: Poetry Prompt “Emotions” for World Poetry Day, 21 March 2021.

On any day, I can feel all these emotions, depending on what is going on in my life!

Exuberant when the Amazon delivery person knocks on my door.

Miserable when I watch the Evening News before going to bed.

Outraged that racism exists and harms people.

Tender when I gaze at my daughters waving “bye mum” over Zoom.

Irritable when I have to put the bins outside and it's raining.

Optimistic when I…

A poem based on a writer’s prompt

Photo by 胡 卓亨 on Unsplash

I want to know why …?

birds fly.

fish swim.

water flows.

people cry.

I want to know why…?

you are sad.

why you smile.

what turns you on.

what turns you off.

I want to know why…?

people gather in hate.

throw stones in glass houses.

love their pets, but not their neighbours.

I want to know why…?

People laugh till they cry.

fools rush in where angels fear to tread.

a rising tide lifts all boats.

beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

What “I want to know why…?” questions pique your curiosity as you go through your day?

Share your thoughts below and maybe someone will fill in the gaps!
